Tarkov director: 60% of players now in PvE mode

Battlestate Games' Nikita Buyanov said 25% of Escape from Tarkov players are in PvP and 15% in the PvP season, while insisting the game stays PvP-centered.

Nikita Buyanov, studio head and game director at Battlestate Games, reported on November 6, 2026 that 60% of Escape from Tarkov players are currently in PvE, 25% in PvP and 15% in the PvP season. He shared the figures on X, as reported by gamespark.jp.

Buyanov described the distribution as a natural gameplay cycle. PvP players consume content faster, he said, and tend to return mainly around events, while PvE players maintain stable activity.

He rejected the idea that the numbers show no one wants PvP. It would be ridiculous to use the current distribution to make that claim, he said, adding that Escape from Tarkov remains PvP-centered.

PvE, he said, is a great addition for people who want a less stressful experience, and he said it is respected.

How the split has moved

On August 13, 2026, the reported split was 7% PvP, 55% PvP season and 38% PvE. On September 3, 2026, a month after the first season KORD BREACH began, it stood at 15% PvP, 35% PvP season and 50% PvE.

Escape from Tarkov is available for Windows via Steam and the official website. The PvE mode requires the PVE Zone DLC.
