Persona 1 remake video leaks as P30th teaser nears reveal

A video described as a remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, the first entry in the Persona series, spread through file-sharing sites and social media on November 1, according to inven.co.kr. Atlus and Sega have not issued an official statement about the footage.

The roughly 2-minute clip is presented at 360p and is split into a field section and a battle section, structured like a game system introduction video. Its protagonist wears earrings and a school uniform resembling the character shown in a separate Persona anniversary collaboration.

The leak landed the same day that Japanese merchandise maker Algernon Products revealed a "P30th" collaboration with illustrator Kei Mochizuki. The collaboration video displays the "P30 ANNIVERSARY" logo and an illustration of a high-collar figure wearing earrings, and states that the Persona 1 main character will be revealed on November 2 at 5 p.m. Algernon Products had posted a teaser reading "???×P30th" on its official X account on October 31.

Some users argue the leaked video may be AI-generated or fan-made, citing reused staging and similarities to other illustrations. No official source has confirmed the video's authenticity.

Prior Persona leaks and remake talk

In April 2023, a 5-second clip of development footage for Persona 3 Reload leaked; the game was officially announced in June 2023. On September 20, 2026, Persona Studio general producer Kazuhisa Wada said in the "Persona 30th Anniversary" special livestream that he personally thinks remakes or remasters of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona and Persona 2 should be made, but that starting a new project is not easy.
