R.E.P.O. Sunstone Update Adds New Stage, Monster and Japanese Support

semiwork's free v0.5.0 update for the Steam co-op horror game also adds 18 rooms, three items and gamepad support.

semiwork released the free major update v0.5.0, titled The Sunstone Update, for R.E.P.O. on October 29, 2026, according to automaton-media.com. The update is available on PC via Steam.

The update adds Japanese among the game's 21 supported languages, and introduces gamepad support. It also adds a new stage, Sunstone Valley Resort, whose interior resembles a mine, with unstable footing, falling rocks and rideable mine carts.

18 new rooms were added to existing stages: 5 in Headman Manor, 4 in Swiftbroom Academy, 4 in Museum of Human Art and 5 in McJannek Station. Some are "giant rooms" with stage-specific gimmicks, such as climbing a giant tree in Swiftbroom Academy and moving while the green light is on in Museum of Human Art.

A new monster called Pony crawls on ceilings with a long tongue and can grab, throw or kick players, or take their weapons. Three new items were added: Human Gun, Human Adventure Cable and Recharge Orb. The shop now lets players hand items to the shopkeeper for a chance at a purchase discount, though the item may be destroyed.

The update also adds Halloween-themed bonus elements, 10 cosmetic items, appearance changes for some monsters, and weapon and item weight adjustments. R.E.P.O. is currently in early access on PC via Steam; it is on sale at 35% off, 780 yen including tax, until November 10, and a Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for release in 2027.
