Titan Quest 2's January 1.0 Update Adds First Endgame Activity
Grimlore Games also plans a final chapter set in the Taygetos Mountains, revamped masteries and a higher affix cap on items.
Grimlore Games has outlined the systems coming to Titan Quest 2 in its 1.0 update, scheduled for January, according to PCGamesN. The update will add the action RPG's first endgame activity, giving players a reason to keep playing after the main story ends.
The 1.0 update also brings the final chapter of the story, which sends players to the snowy peaks of the Taygetos Mountains to defeat Nemesis. The antagonist is guarded by Cyclopes, described as master craftsmen who build mechanical automatons for their volcanic forges.
Kaos Curses and new rewards
A new post-story quest introduces Kaos Curses, optional modifiers that raise difficulty by boosting enemy stats, granting enemies extra abilities or weakening the player. Enabling more of them yields greater rewards, and new endgame-specific activities unlock at certain thresholds. Completing those activities grants fresh rewards and additional crafting options for gear.
Itemization is changing too. The maximum affix count rises by two, letting Rare and Infrequent tiers roll up to six modifiers. New affixes include better Lifesteal support and flat Spell Damage bonuses, alongside a set of rare affixes that typically carry two effects; an item can hold up to two rare affixes, one as a prefix and one as a suffix. Epic-rarity armor will drop with two randomly rolled affixes while keeping a fixed core.
Mastery changes aim to improve synergy between the two chosen Masteries and encourage hybrid builds, supported by free-text and keyword search tools. Passive trees are being reworked with fewer passive points but more powerful-feeling choices and a larger selection of feats per passive.
Titan Quest 2 has been in early access for more than a year. Grimlore has consistently described it as a campaign-led ARPG rather than a seasonal live-service game like Diablo 4 or Path of Exile 2.
