Warzone Season 1 Meta: Cronen Osprey Tops Long-Range Rankings

A CODMunity analysis after the Modern Warfare 4 integration names the Cronen Osprey and VEL 46 as the early standouts in Warzone Season 1.

CODMunity has published a Call of Duty: Warzone weapon analysis that names the Cronen Osprey as the strongest long-range option and the VEL 46 as the best close-range gun in the new Season 1 meta, according to gamerant.com. The rankings follow Warzone Season 1's launch on November 6, which brought full Modern Warfare 4 integration.

The Cronen Osprey places seventh in raw time-to-kill but moves to first once ease of use is factored in, the analysis found. The M4 placed second in CODMunity's long-range rankings.

On the close-range side, the VEL 46 with its VEL 46 Snap Apex attachment took the top spot. The analysis also noted the ISO Nightshade for its fast aim-down-sights speed and the PPSh-41 for its high rate of fire.

What Season 1 added

The update introduced all 33 launch weapons of Modern Warfare 4, additional Season 1 armaments and new Apex attachments, along with the Hajin Battle Royale and Zodiac Resurgence maps.

Raven Software has confirmed it will keep monitoring weapon performance and plans further balancing adjustments during the season. Call of Duty: Warzone originally released on March 10, 2020, developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and published by Activision; it carries an M for Mature ESRB rating.
