AMD releases FSR SDK 2.4 with Vulkan support and FSR Upscaling 4.1.2

FSR SDK 2.4 brings Vulkan support at feature parity with DirectX 12 and enables FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 on Radeon RX 6000 Series and Ryzen AI processors.

AMD released FSR SDK 2.4, adding FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 for Radeon RX 6000 Series discrete GPUs and several Ryzen AI processor families, and bringing Vulkan support at feature parity with DirectX 12 for upscaling and frame generation, according to gamingonlinux.com.

FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 introduces a full INT8 model on Ryzen AI Max 300 Series and Ryzen AI Max 400 Series processors with Radeon 8000S Series graphics. A second, lighter INT8 model supports Ryzen AI 9 300 Series, Ryzen AI 9 400 Series, Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, Ryzen Z2 Extreme and Ryzen Z2 A processors. Model selection is automatic based on the target hardware.

This is the first FSR Redstone release to offer Vulkan support at feature parity with DirectX 12. The Vulkan coverage includes FSR Upscaling 4.1.2, FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1.6, FSR Frame Generation 4.0.2, FidelityFX Super Resolution Frame Generation 3.1.6, FSR Frame Generation (Swapchain) 4.0.0 and FidelityFX Super Resolution Frame Generation (Swapchain) 3.1.7.

Vulkan games must integrate the FSR SDK 2.4 to receive these features; existing Vulkan games are not automatically upgraded through the driver. The samples in the SDK run on Vulkan 1.2.

FSR Ray Regeneration and FSR Radiance Caching remain DirectX 12 effects in this release. Before this SDK, FSR Upscaling models were already shipping on Radeon RX 9000 Series (RDNA 4, full FP8) and Radeon RX 7000 Series (RDNA 3, full INT8) GPUs.
