Apple Music 7.0 for Android rolls out with Liquid Glass redesign

The update leaves beta and reaches the Play Store with a new black-and-white icon, blue accent colour and edge-to-edge layout.

Apple Music 7.0 for Android is rolling out through the Play Store after about a month of beta testing, according to 9to5google.com. The update brings the Liquid Glass redesign to the Android app.

The app icon now appears as a black or white music note depending on the device theme, replacing the red background, and the accent colour throughout the app is blue.

Version 7.0 adds a floating bottom bar with slight translucency, and the mini-player is no longer docked to that bar. It also introduces an edge-to-edge design for Android's system status and navigation bars.

Library, artist pages and settings

Top bars place the page title and overflow menu on the same line, with the three-dot icons set in circular containers instead of red ones. In the Library tab, Edit Pins and Edit Categories move into the three-dot menu.

Artist pages have been redesigned with backgrounds themed on the cover image and a prominent play button, and the Settings page has improved grouping.

Version 7.0 matches iOS 27 under a versioning system aligned with iOS, following a recent release that moved the Android app onto that scheme.
