Voicemod launches Star Wars sound boards in Disney licensing deal
The Mandalorian and Grogu are the first characters available; each sound board costs $9.99, or $7.99 for premium subscribers.
Voicemod has launched Star Wars sound boards featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first characters in an offering made possible by a licensing deal with Disney, according to deadline.com.
The two sound boards are available as stand-alone purchases for $9.99, or for $7.99 for premium subscribers. Each includes 20 different audio clips that users can deploy while playing games, streaming or chatting online.
Under the Disney activation, users can use and share only pre-existing sounds, not altered voices. Voicemod said Marvel characters will be added to the offering in the future.
Voicemod is based in Spain and makes sound boards and voice-changing technology. The company claims a monthly active user base of 5.7 million.
Earlier Disney character deal
Before current CEO Josh D'Amaro took the helm, Disney struck a deal with OpenAI to make a $1 billion equity investment in exchange for letting OpenAI's Sora video platform feature select Disney characters. That arrangement was later scrapped after OpenAI decided to shut down Sora, which had generated complaints over misuse of copyrighted material.
