Google to Offer TPUs on Oracle Cloud Starting Next Year

The deal marks the first time Google's AI chips are available on another hyperscaler's platform beyond Google Cloud.

Google and Oracle announced a contract on October 28, 2026, that will allow Oracle Cloud customers to use Google's Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) starting next year. According to digitaltoday.co.kr, the companies said this is the first case of TPUs being offered on another hyperscaler's platform beyond Google's own.

The announcement comes as demand for AI compute capacity grows. OpenAI has posted a job opening for a software engineer to optimize its AI models for TPUs, and The Information reported that OpenAI plans to purchase TPUs from Google.

In its IPO filing, Anthropic stated it plans to spend $114.5 billion on Google computing resources from April 2026 to July 2033. The company estimated spending of $125 billion to $150 billion on TPU compute capacity from Google and other suppliers.

Analysts raise TPU revenue forecasts

Mizuho forecast Google TPU revenue of $28 billion in 2026 and $67 billion in 2027, with up to $100 billion in 2028. TD Cowen analysts projected TPU revenue of $138 billion in 2028, which would represent 34% of Google Cloud revenue.

For comparison, NVIDIA recorded revenue of $96.2 billion in its most recent quarter.
