NVIDIA completes $1 billion Naver stake, taking 4.13%

Naver issued 6,558,435 new shares to NVIDIA on November 6, making the US chipmaker its third-largest shareholder behind the National Pension Service and BlackRock.

NVIDIA has completed a 1 billion dollar strategic equity investment in Naver, the Korean company disclosed on November 6, taking a stake of approximately 4.13% in the company through a third-party allotment of 6,558,435 common shares.

The paid-in amount came to about 1.3411 trillion won, and payment procedures were completed the same day, according to techm.kr. The issue price was set at 204,500 won per share.

The final stake is smaller than the 4.54% originally expected, because the number of shares was adjusted with exchange rate movements. The dollar-denominated investment itself stayed at 1 billion dollars.

With the allotment complete, NVIDIA becomes Naver's third-largest shareholder, after the National Pension Service and BlackRock. The new shares are scheduled to be listed on the 27th.

AI infrastructure deal came first

The investment follows the completion of a 9 billion dollar computing infrastructure contract between Naver and Brookfield, signed on October 27, 2026, which was a precondition for NVIDIA's participation. Naver and NVIDIA had signed the new share subscription agreement in July 2026, the same month the two companies and Brookfield announced a strategic cooperation to build AI factories.
