Robotis Unveils Semi-Humanoid AI Walker Robot at AI Festa 2026
Robotis showed the mobile model of its AI Walker robot in Seoul, featuring 25 degrees of freedom and an Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin module.
Robotis unveiled its semi-humanoid robot 'AI Walker' at AI Festa 2026, held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, on October 8. The company showed the mobile model on site, according to ZDNet Korea.
AI Walker pairs a humanoid upper body with an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) platform and is designed to handle tasks such as wiring harness assembly, welding and inspection. The lineup includes three models: a fixed type (FFW-BG2), a mobile type (FFW-SG2) and a power type (FFW-SH3P), the last developed for heavy-load work.
The fixed model weighs 85kg, stands 1607mm tall and has 19 degrees of freedom (DOF). The mobile model weighs 90kg, is 1623mm tall and offers 25 DOF, with wheels for autonomous movement, two lidars and an IMU. Both models provide 7 DOF per arm, 2 DOF in the head and 1 DOF for lift, with arms reaching up to 641mm and a lifting capacity of up to 1.5kg.
AI Walker runs on an Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin 32GB computing module and supports ROS2 and Python-based software. Robotis also exhibited teleoperation equipment for remotely controlling the robot.
In September 2026, Robotis announced it was adopting vision sensors for its humanoid with the aim of autonomous walking, and CEO Kim Byung-soo said humanoids would become all-purpose platforms like smartphones.
