Murata Launches Kickstarter for English Across the Strange Edge Vol. 2
The campaign also funds a deluxe hardcover omnibus of the first two volumes, with a goal of €7,000 by December 17.
Manga creator Yayū Murata announced a Kickstarter campaign to fund an English-language release of the second volume of Across the Strange Edge (Okashiki Sekai no Kyōkaisen), according to Anime News Network. The campaign launches on November 19 and runs through December 17, with a goal of €7,000 (about US$7,900).
The Kickstarter also covers a deluxe hardcover omnibus collecting the first two volumes. The omnibus cover was made in collaboration with Takashi Kumatani, and two further deluxe hardcover volumes are planned.
If the campaign is funded, the books are scheduled for digital and physical release in May 2027. Rewards include an original shikishi art board and art prints.
Second crowdfunding round
On April 1, Murata ran a Kickstarter for an English version of the first volume, which raised €8,774 (about US$9,900) against a €3,200 goal, with physical rewards shipping from September 8.
Murata first launched the series as a one-shot on Shogakukan's Manga ONE platform, where it won an award. Serialization on Manga ONE began in 2020, and Shogakukan shipped the fifth and final compiled volume in August 2021.
