The expansion adds the Gorn, Tholians and Terran Empire as playable civilizations, plus a Campaign Mode and automated Non-Player Civilizations.

Gale Force Nine has officially announced Star Trek Ascendancy: The Final Frontier, an expansion for the Star Trek: Ascendancy board game, according to screenrant.com. Pre-orders are available through Zatu Games at approximately $138 USD, with bundles also offered.

The expansion adds three playable civilizations that were previously available only to Gamefound backers: the Gorn, the Tholians and the Terran Empire. It also introduces a Campaign Mode with unique scenarios and Non-Player Civilizations, automated opponents that enable solo play or add extra civilizations in multiplayer games.

The box contains 90 plastic ships, 45 system disks, 13 dice and more than 400 cards, along with resource nodes, fleet markers, updated rules and a campaign book.

A firm retail release date has not been confirmed; fulfillment is anticipated in late 2026. The expansion is not a direct adaptation of the 1989 film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
