Samsung Brings Victory Selfie to Youth Olympics for First Time

Samsung Electronics is taking part in the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games as the International Olympic Committee's official partner in the wireless communications category, and is bringing its Victory Selfie program to a Youth Olympic Games for the first time, according to inews24.com.

In Victory Selfie, medal-winning athletes photograph themselves on the podium using Galaxy smartphones. The program had not previously been staged at a Youth Olympics.

Samsung is also using Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones alongside broadcast cameras to cover the skateboarding and taekwondo events at the Games.

In the athletes' village, the company is running a Samsung Open Station where athletes can try Galaxy products and Galaxy AI features. The space hosts the Victory Wall, Victory Talk and Victory Photo Zone programs.

The Dakar Youth Olympic Games run until the 13th, with about 2,700 young athletes competing in 25 sports.

Long-standing Olympic partnership

Samsung began as a local sponsor of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and has been an IOC official partner since the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Since 2010 it has also supported the Youth Olympic Games, and it has provided Galaxy Olympic Edition devices to athletes at seven Olympics, including the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
