SNE Research: BTR tops Shanshan in anode loading, top two share falls
Global EV anode material loading rose 21.1% year-on-year from January to August, while the market outside China grew 27.5%, according to SNE Research.
SNE Research reported that BTR overtook Shanshan in electric vehicle anode material loading from January to August this year, taking first place. BTR had ranked second in the same period last year, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.

Among the top 10, eight were Chinese firms, excluding Posco Future M and Japan's Hitachi Chemical. Posco Future M was the only Korean firm in the top 10 but ranked ninth with a 15.5% decrease in loading.
SNE Research said Chinese anode material makers are competing intensively on cost and yield of artificial graphite. MetalsHub stated that 98% of the world's graphite processing facilities are in China.
EU battery sourcing rules in focus
In March, the European Commission proposed the Industrial Acceleration Act (IAA). The draft requires at least five battery components to be sourced from EU origin three years after the law takes effect. Cells, cathode materials, and battery management systems (BMS) are mandatory local components, with the other two unspecified. The draft allows products from countries with a free trade agreement with the EU to be recognized as equivalent to EU-made products under certain conditions.
