Black Desert adds AMD FSR 3.1 and DirectX 12 in October 28 update

Pearl Abyss says the patch sharpens character, background and distant object detail and cuts edge aliasing, with FSR 4.1 and Nvidia DLSS planned later.

Pearl Abyss applied AMD FSR 3.1 and DirectX 12 to Black Desert on October 28, according to gamemeca.com. The update targets image quality across characters, backgrounds and distant objects.

According to Pearl Abyss, the patch reduces edge aliasing as well as screen shake and flicker during movement. In a side-by-side comparison with the technology switched on and off, branches, building corners, distant NPCs and trees appeared smoother, and roof edges showed less aliasing.

The studio said it plans to add AMD FSR 4.1 and Nvidia DLSS in the future, without giving a date for either.

Background

Black Desert launched in 2014 and has been in service for 12 years. Pearl Abyss carried out a graphics remaster of the game in 2018, after which total users rose 23% and returning Korean users increased 120%.
