Uchikoshi Says AI Could Have Saved Canceled Crash Keys Game

In a Famitsu interview, the Zero Escape writer said AI could cut costs and development time, possibly preventing the cancellation.

Kotaro Uchikoshi, the writer behind Zero Escape and Hundred Line: Final Defense Academy, said in an interview with Famitsu that he supports the use of AI in game development and believes his canceled Crash Keys game might not have been canceled if AI had been used to reduce costs and development time.

Uchikoshi said the cancellation of the Crash Keys game was among his worst days as a developer. He added that AI could handle repeated small graphic adjustments without losing patience.

He also said his new studio Crash Keys was partly founded to make more "Uchikoshi-like" games while still working with Too Kyo Games, the studio led by Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka.

Previously, Uchikoshi announced Crash Keys and said its game in development had been canceled. He also said that Hundred Line may be "one of the last times" a game of that scale would be made without AI.
