Samsung launches SmartPlan payment-and-care bundle in Singapore

SmartPlan combines product price with after-sales care in one fixed monthly payment, with ownership transferring at the end of the term.

Samsung Electronics launched SmartPlan in Singapore in early November 2026, according to etnews.com. The plan bundles the price of a product and its after-sales care into a single fixed monthly payment.

SmartPlan covers selected smartphone, tablet, TV, refrigerator and washing machine models. Payment periods run from one to five years: smartphones for 1-2 years, TVs for 4 years or more, and appliances for 3-5 years. Ownership of the product transfers to the customer at the end of the payment period, and monthly payments include delivery and installation costs.

What the plan covers

Samsung says the plan guarantees genuine parts, repair labour and transport costs, with Samsung technicians carrying out on-site repairs. Remote diagnostics are available without limit. Appliance plans include one or two cleaning or inspection visits depending on the plan period, along with monthly maintenance reports.

The company plans to expand SmartPlan from Southeast Asia and Oceania to other countries in the region.

Samsung already runs Samsung Care Plus as a separate monthly subscription in Europe and the US, and in 2025 it launched a separate extended warranty product for appliances and TVs in Singapore. It began appliance subscriptions in Korea in December 2024 and is close to 1 trillion won in subscription revenue this year. Rival LG Electronics started its subscription business in Malaysia in late 2019 and expanded to Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore in 2025.
